Danielle Van Waterschoot, MSW, RSW, provides counselling for individuals and couples and is currently accepting new clients at Emotion-Focused Counselling.
She supports clients who are looking to feel more grounded, more connected in their relationships, or more supported in their parenting or caregiving roles. Danielle offers a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients can show up as they are. Together, she works with clients toward their goals in a way that fits their needs, whether that involves a gentle pace or a more structured approach.
Areas of Focus:
Danielle is passionate about supporting women, parents, and couples through emotionally complex seasons, including: pregnancy and postpartum mental health, parenting stress and caregiver burnout, supporting children with disabilities or mental health concerns, relationship challenges,
major life transitions, including the transition to parenthood.
As a mother and former Developmental Support Worker and Educational Assistant, Danielle understands the emotional and practical demands of caregiving. Her experience as a crisis responder with Kids Help Phone has further shaped her ability to support individuals and families during times of distress.
Danielle holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and is a Registered Social Worker. She has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, and life transitions across hospital, community, and school settings. Her approach is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
She draws from: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-based practices.
Danielle has completed specialized training in Emotion-Focused Therapy through ICEEFT. She uses EFT with individuals and couples to help clients better understand their emotional patterns, strengthen their sense of self, and develop more adaptive ways of responding to challenges.
